My birthday was not what I expected when I turned 21, but it was still fun. My best friend Courtney came up on Thursday night to surprise me and stayed until Sunday morning. We went shopping and to an Indie music and film festival. It made my birthday more special because she came up to see me.
Since my birthday was on a Sunday this year, Katie and I decided we would just have dinner at her house with her family and Kylie. Well, Spencer Mark decided to pop out into the world on Friday and I know Katie was worried about having the baby right before my birthday. It was a nice birthday surprise and he is the cutest baby! Grandma and Grandpa were nice enough to bring over chicken squares and a cake for my birthday. That night I really began to miss my friends and family in Las Vegas.
Monday I had to work, so we went out to eat for my birthday when I got home. Katie stayed home with Spencer, so Mark, Emma, Hannah, Kylie and I all went to Fuddruckers. Mom was nice enough to send extra money for my birthday dinner, which we used that night. While I was at work, Mark went to pick up the ice cream cake Mom had pre-ordered from Dairy Queen. He went into the store and the kid working was the only one there and doing the drive through and the counter. Mark asked for my cake and the kid took 20 minutes in the back getting it. When he brought it out Mark told me he asked the kid if the cake was a joke. See, mom had ordered a cake with flowers and it to say Happy 21st Birthday Chelsea. It turns out no one ever made my cake, so the kid wrote Happy 21st Birtday Chesey (yes exactly as I typed it!) on whatever cake he could find in the back. When they first told me the story I laughed, but when I saw the cake I felt like crying. Finally I decided the cake would taste the same whether it had the right thing on it or not.
Hopefully next year my birthday will be a little better. Thank you to everyone who called to wish me a Happy Birthday and Katie and her family for still making my day special!

Back to Blogging, Back to Utah...
Well I decided to start a blog again. I get on here everyday to look at everyone else's blog that I thought I should start my own.
I decided this summer, after taking a grueling session of summer school physics, to take Fall semester off. Katie offered to let me come up to Utah and live with her and her family while I work and hang out. A friend of mine from Henderson, who recently got married, moved up here last December to be the coordinator at the American Fork pool. I called him up before the summer ended and asked if he would be needing any Head Guards for the winter season. He told me he would and even if the spots were filled he would give me the position.
So, on September 9, I packed all my stuff into my car and headed for Provo, UT. It is nice being up here and relaxing. For everyone who thinks I am not going to go back in the Spring, I plan on attending UNLV next semester.
As soon as I get some pictures of the pool I work at, I will post them. I dont do much during the day so this blog might be a little bit of a waste, but we will see. Hope everyone is doing well wherever they are!

SIX FLAGS!
Me taking a break from climbin up the hillThe friday before I went up to Utah, my best friend Courtney and I decided to drive down to California and go to Six Flags. Kim Finley, Aunt Mary Alice's daughter, offered to let us stay at her house in Canyon Country, CA which is about 15 minutes away from the theme park. We set out Friday night and slept over that night. Saturday morning we got up early and headed to Six Flags. I was really excited because I have never been there and had been telling Courtney I wanted to go for my birthday. We tried to go on every rollercoaster in the park, but some were closed. We managed I think 14 out of the 17 they have. Our favorite was the Riddler's Revenge. Thanks Court for such a fun weekend!
