Not good...

I told Katie about two weeks before I paid off my car that I had a feeling something bad would happen once I finally had. Well, today that prophecy came to pass. Right after I left the pool to go to Kneaders, I ran a stop sign and blindsided a car on the passenger side. My air bags went out and my car is totaled according to the assessor. I could not stop crying and I just keep thinking about how stupid I feel and what I am going to do. My back hurts a little bit and I am shaken up, but other than that I am happy to be alive. As Pop said to me, "this too shall pass." Keep me in your prayers everyone, thanks!

Weekend in Vegas!

Thursday

I arrived in Las Vegas about 5 on Thursday night and went straight to the mall. I needed to pick up presents for Courtney and Lindsey's birthday party that was later that night. From there I went to meet Courtney at her apartment so we could load up all the food for the party in our cars. We went to Mom and Pop's to drop off my suitcase and grab a smaller one to put in the stuff I would need for my costume. Then, we headed over to the Mandalay Bay Hotel where the party was going to be held. Lindsey's boyfriend Derek has a friend who works at the hotel and got them a deal on a suite. Courtney and I arrived a little after 8 and started to set up decorations and put out the food. We were both a little stressed because we had to set up and get ready in our costumes before the party started at 10. By the way, it was a Harry Potter costume party. Grandma's friend Joyce Shipp made me a dress so that I could dress up as Fleur Delacour. She is the French girl in the 4th Harry Potter movie/book who competes against Harry in the Goblet of fire. Courtney dressed up at Luna Lovegood. Lindsey dressed up as Hermione Granger and her boyfriend was Ron Weasley. They bought glasses and put a scar on anyone who didn't dress up, with an eyeliner pencil. It was a really fun party and didnt end until about 1 in the morning. Afterwards I went downstairs with Courtney and played a slot machine just to say that I did. No, I did not win anything unfortunately. We walked around and took some pictures and then I went home to sleep in my own bed.

Friday

I woke up around 11 on Friday morning and got ready for the day. I really miss my big brother Ben, so I had asked if he wanted to go to lunch while I was in town. We ate at Chipotle and talked with each other for about 45 minutes. It was really nice I got to see him because he was leaving a few hours later to go to San Diego for the football game. After lunch I headed over to my hairdresser's house to get my hair done. I wanted to get it trimmed and dyed a light brown. I usually go darker in the winter and lighten my hair in the spring and summer. Well, I ended up being at her house for three and a half hours. She put a filler on my hair, which helps the highlights not to show through. She then cut my hair and had me look at it in the mirror. The filler caused my hair to be a little too red for my liking, so she asked if I would like her to dye it again. I said yes and that I wanted it to be a lighter brown. Well, what I got was not what I had gone down to Vegas expecting. When I got home I washed my hair 3 times because she said that after a few washes the red would fade out more. I dried my hair and realized it was cut unevenly! I started crying and asked mom to come upstairs to fix my hair. I was really upset because I was not about to go back to the girl's house after spending so much time there earlier. Mom came to the rescue and trimmed up the side that was longer. I am now finally getting used to the color and cut. Pop told me the difference between a good cut and a bad cut is about one month, haha. Mom made my favorite dinner, beef stroganoff, that night which improved my mood a lot! Easton, Mason, and Brynn came over and ate with us and spent the night. I miss them so much and they are growing up so fast. I was sad I didn't get to see Matthew, Emily, Sarah, or Andrew, but maybe I will see them when Spencer is blessed.

I had been telling Courtney that I wanted to go to a club. We were going to go for my 21st birthday, but since I was in Utah we decided the next time I came down we would go together. She works with a guy, Jamal, at the airport who also does club promoting at the Palms casino. Basically, he goes around to groups of girls in the hotel and tries to get them to go to the clubs. If they say he sent them, then they get in for free. More girls = More guys paying to get in. So, Jamal met up with us at the Palms around 12:30 am and took us to 4 different clubs while we were there. We were totally VIP all night long. We didn't even have to wait in lines. We just went up to the rope and Jamal said we were with him and we got in! The clubs we went to were Rain, Ghostbar, Moon, and Playboy. I thought I would feel kind of awkward because Courtney and I don't like to dance much, but it was really fun! We even got a guy to buy us drinks... bottled water. Courtney and I gave each other high fives for that one :) Mom was not too thrilled about me going to a club, but all in all it was a really fun experience and I would do it again. By the way this picture/dress makes me look like I have a gut and I totally do not!

Saturday

I didn't get home until 3:30 am the night before, so I slept in until 11 again on Saturday morning. I got ready and packed all of my stuff up. Melissa came to pick up the kids around one and it was really nice to see her too. I put some of my stuff in my car and went to get a smog check. I got a notice for registering my car, but couldn't get a smog until I came home for the party. Then, I went to Court's to give her the pictures from the party and back home to say good-bye to everyone. I didn't even get to see Emily because she went to a band thing in California Friday morning. Kara is in town to go to the temple with her sister-in-law who is taking out her endowments. I got to hold Hallie Elizabeth and feed her. She is so pretty and has the biggest eyes! It was really nice to be home and a lot harder to leave this time than I thought it was going to be. I left the house about 5, which was 5 hours later than I had originally planned on leaving. I was really tired from the night before, so I stopped in Mesquite and took an hour nap in my car. Then, I headed back up to Provo and arried at 12:30 in the morning. I am so happy that I got to go home this weekend. It was a trip well worth the drive!

Car and Summer School Paid Off!

On the last paycheck I received, I officially paid off my car and summer school. It is such a relief to finally have my payments over with. I put my summer school on an interest free credit card and hoped to get it paid before I had to start paying interest. Now I am debt free and really wanting a new car, haha.

UNLV vs. BYU

Ok, so UNLV lost to BYU last night, but at least I got to hang out with a bunch of cute guys! I went over to Andrew Dougherty's apartment last night to watch the game with him and his roommates. I wore a 'Real Mormons Are Rebels' t-shirt that Pop sent, which didnt win them all over at first. I did my best to cheer on my team, but in the end the Cougars dominated. It was a really fun night and I got to meet a lot of awesome people. After the game a lot of people came over to hang out and then we watched Nacho Libre. I hope Andrew and I get to hang out more.

I finally got paid! I have been working at the American Fork Fitness Center for 4 weeks now and still had not been paid. I went to the office of the lady in charge of the Fitness Center yesterday to get some answers and our maintenance guy was there. He called City Hall for me and found out my check was at the front desk. My mood improved ten fold that day! I am now going to pay off my car and summer school. Yay for PAY DAY!

My 2 Jobs

I told mom that nothing happens in my life, but I thought I should post about the two things that actually make me have NO life.
I came up to Utah on September 9 and immediately started working on the 10th at the American Fork Fitness Center as a Head Guard. I basically just sit around and tell the other lifeguards what to do, check chemicals in the pool, and go on stand occasionally. I tell my manager, Joey, all the time that he is so lucky to have me as a Head Guard because I get things done for him and I have the most customer service experience. He knows he is lucky, I just think I should remind him every once in awhile (or every day!). By the way pop made me two supervisor shirts and a hoodie because you have to pay for them in AF. I was so spoiled in Henderson where they gave you everything. Thanks pop, I love you!

After about two weeks of being up here and trying to find a second job, Katie and Mark told me that Kneaders had a sign up saying they Kneaded people to work for them. Seriously, the paper on the door said "Knead a job? We Knead you!" So I went down to the Kneaders in Provo and they told me I had to apply online. So, I drove back home and applied that night. The next morning I got a call from Colleen, the owner of the Kneaders in Orem/Lindon. She left me a message saying how much she loved my family and she was so excited to meet me and that I was hired! I didnt even have to interview, she just told me that she told the General Manager of the store to hire me. I called her back and she told me to come in the next week to start training. I work on Monday, Wednesday, Friday nights until close. I have been working for a week so far and I really like making the sandwiches, but the first night I was there I had to do dishes for 2 hours!

As I was saying before, I have NO life. I usually work at the pool anywhere from 8 to 11 in the morning until 4:30 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and then I head to Lindon to work at Kneaders until close which usually ends up being 11 o' clock at night. My days off vary at the pool so sometimes I will get one of those three days off so I don't have to work both jobs. I am starting to feel the exhaustion when I come home at night, but I'm sure my body will begin to get used to it. Many of you may think I am crazy, but I chose to work both jobs and I have nothing else to do while I am up here so I might as well be earning money. (Speaking of earning money, I still have not gotten paid by the pool which I have been working at for 4 weeks now! That will be on the next post when hopefully I will have gotten paid already!)
